Ziga Medved
@ziga_medvedSoftware engineer at Robinhood (Bitstamp). Prev. The NU.
I ship production systems for a living: exchange APIs (REST, FIX, WebSocket), reliability, and on-call. On the side I build small tools in Go and ship them in public.
Based in Maribor, Slovenia. Open to relocate for the right team.
work
Day job first, then what I build after hours.
Exchange API team. Real-time trading systems in production.
Dashboard for your .env files: masked secrets, missing-key checks and git leak detection.
Go framework for agent-to-agent exchanges: discovery, routing, auth, metering, observability.
Supply-chain risk visibility. Know what you're running before you run it.
in production
Recent work on Robinhood (Bitstamp) exchange API team:
- Halved FIX Redis persist latency in production; market-data e2e p50 down 31%
- Shipped per-user / per-market rate limiting for finer customer throttling
- Cut matching-engine load by 2-3% with in-flight request caching
- Fixed race conditions in critical order flows and chased down production degradations
- Own REST, FIX and WebSocket surfaces; on-call for exchange infrastructure
writing
When every change risks a production edge case, is it the engineer who shipped the feature, or a decade of debt?
Lean startups ship without dedicated PMs. Enterprise often cannot. Is that wisdom, or process with a job title?
