Bachelor thesis — dual-service chess platform combining search, engine analysis and game retrieval.
Problem
Chess analysis requires fast position lookup across large game corpora and reliable engine evaluation — a single monolith struggles to serve both workloads.
Solution
Designed a two-service architecture: a Java service with Apache Lucene (BM25) and MongoDB for position search, plus a Python service with Stockfish for real-time analysis. Both containerized with Docker.
